Frappato

General Description: Frappato is a red grape variety native to the island of Sicily, Italy, particularly known for its contribution to the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, where it is blended with Nero d’Avola. On its own, Frappato produces light-bodied, aromatic wines that are celebrated for their fresh, fruity character and easy drinkability. This variety is distinguished by its bright red fruit flavours, floral aromas, and a subtle minerality, making it a favourite among those who appreciate softer, more approachable red wines. Frappato wines are typically low in tannins and have a lively acidity, contributing to their fresh and vibrant profile.
